Cutest Baby Mario Ever!!

CUTEST BABY MARIO EVER!

Who doesn't love Mario? To make this adorable costume I used a pattern I found for free on the web. I created my own Mario hat pattern to fit a baby head (he is 5 months, I used the 6 month pattern) Hat size can be adjusted for head size. Make sure you print the patterns using the "Actual Size" setting.

Follow the pattern and instructions for the Dungarees. I used a soft jersey type of material. I left the pocket off and added a couple oversized buttons for the Mario look. I sewed the buttons straight to the dungarees, they do not function. I sized them on him and used Velcro for where the straps needed to fasten.

For the hat, cut pieces according to pattern. I used red felt.

To sew:

One large red piece is solid, the other has the head hole pattern cut out (see pattern for placement of cut out) Sew two large red pieces on outer edge then turn inside out.

Top of Hat

Sew hat bill pieces together on outer edge, do not sew the smaller edge that will attached to the hat.

Turn bill inside out. Place around the inner edge of head hole and sew.

Under Hat

Cut the outer circle of the "M" from white felt.

Cut the M itself out and put on the round circle of white felt and trace. Cut the M out of the white felt circle and attach to the hat.

I took one of the babies little beanie hats and tacked on the inside of the hat so it would stay on his head better. If you do this, do it with extra thread in your stitches so it will stretch without breaking the thread.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM BABY MARIO!

Until next time!
